Research Goal

My research goal is to determine the relationship between common phenotypes in infants with Down syndrome and explore the gene expression of several genes thought to be extremely significant in DS.

Description of Your Research

I use a mouse model of Down syndrome to explore a population of cells, the Neural Crest, thought to be important in the altered development of individuals with DS. In addition, I document information obtained from records at Riley Children's Hospital to explore the relationship of particular traits seen in infants with DS.
