Research Goal To understand allosteric protein mechanism from a Rigidity-Coarse Grained model.
Description of Your Research Using Rigidity or Rigid Cluster Decompostion, a coarse grained model of proteins, to understand allostery. Allostery is when a regulatory molecule binds to a protein and changes the affinity of the main binding site(s) of the protein.
Examples Of How My Research Is Integrated Into My GK-12 Experience I am currently working on using Folding@Home as a method of bringing some of the concepts of protein folding and dynamics into my classroom, yet haven't found a way to really have the classroom use Rigidity.
Currently, My GK-12 Classroom Is Investigating 1-D collisions | ![]() |
